Responsibilities

• Line-manage European IG reporters, including setting expectations and providing feedback
• Edit copy to sharpen angles, improve sourcing, and ensure accuracy and clarity
• Set the coverage strategy for primary, secondary, credit fundamentals, and macro themes
• Report and break stories on market-moving deals, themes, and issuers
• Build and maintain a senior source network across syndicate desks, DCM, and investors
• Develop reporters through coaching on source-building and writing
• Drive long-form features and investigative pieces
• Represent 9fin at industry conferences and events

Requirements

• Several years of experience reporting on credit markets, specifically European Investment Grade
• Proven track record of breaking market-moving stories
• Strong editorial and line-management or mentoring experience
• Deep understanding of credit details including spreads, curves, ratings, and covenants
• Excellent written English with the ability to communicate technical topics to sophisticated readers
• High accuracy and discipline in fast-moving market environments
