ETL Test Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and operational execution of the Data Quality framework
• Analyze business requirements for completeness and accuracy against technical specifications
• Create high-level test scenarios and manual test cases
• Develop validation scripts for automated execution and actionable data quality reports
• Develop YAML code to create and maintain DevOps pipelines
• Analyze test outputs and report defects
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Scientists, and Product Owners to ensure data validity
• Participate in defect triage and sprint ceremonies
• Architect logical design of data quality practices including data modeling and processing flows

Requirements

• 5+ years of related experience in large scale system implementation
• Proven experience with ETL testing
• Ability to automate ETL tests using Pyspark or Python
• Experience with test management tools such as DevOps or JIRA
• Experience with source control repositories like Git (GitHub or Bitbucket)
• Ability to create Databricks notebooks to automate manual tests
• Ability to create and run test pipelines and interpret results
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure Databricks, Azure ADF, and Azure DevOps
• Proficiency in SQL, DAX, and Python/PySpark
• Knowledge of Javascript/Typescript and Powershell
• Experience testing reports in Power BI or Tableau
• Experience working in a Scrum/Agile environment
