About the role
Responsibilities
- Support the Results, Evaluation and Learning (REAL) team in overseeing results management, evaluation, and learning functions for climate-related funding.
- Conduct technical reviews of funding requests to ensure quality, coherence, and compliance with MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning) requirements.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of results measurement frameworks, MEL policies, and knowledge management strategies.
- Monitor the implementation status of approved funding requests and consolidate key findings and lessons learned.
- Provide M&E guidance and technical support to accredited agencies and client countries to strengthen results orientation.
- Prepare high-quality briefing notes, presentation materials, and reports for FRLD leadership, the Board, and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate the development and dissemination of M&E products, including tools, templates, and case studies.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Climate Change, Economics, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in M&E systems, development effectiveness, or knowledge management.
- Demonstrated understanding of economic and non-economic loss and damage from climate-induced events.
- Strong analytical and drafting skills with the ability to synthesize complex technical data into concise papers.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to present to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple assignments, and meet tight deadlines across different time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within international financial institutions (e.g., World Bank, UN agencies, or climate funds).
- Experience working in developing countries across multiple regions.
- Proficiency in one or more UN languages (French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, or Chinese) in addition to English.
