About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide technical, programmatic, and operational support to the Global Wildlife Program (GWP) Knowledge Platform.
- Implement the GWP knowledge management strategy, including identifying learning needs and designing capacity-building initiatives.
- Develop and improve systems for knowledge organization, including repositories, web-based platforms, and documentation templates.
- Lead the design, planning, and delivery of workshops, webinars, study tours, and other interactive learning events.
- Create online learning modules, training materials, and products to drive technical capacity building.
- Establish and support communities of practice and thematic learning networks across different regions.
- Document lessons learned, good practices, and results emerging from GWP country projects.
- Facilitate the integration of monitoring and evaluation data into knowledge activities to identify learning priorities.
- Coordinate GWP activities with technical partners, regional units, and other World Bank Group Knowledge Platforms.
- Support program management functions including work planning, tracking deliverables, and progress reporting.
Requirements
- Master's degree in environment, natural resources management, international development, or knowledge management.
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in environment or development-related fields.
- Proven experience in implementing knowledge management strategies and peer-to-peer learning platforms.
- Demonstrated professional experience working in at least one developing or emerging economy.
- Strong analytical, organizational, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Experience in project management, including work planning, budgeting, and report writing.
- Professional English language skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of biodiversity conservation, wildlife trade, or human-wildlife coexistence.
- Familiarity with World Bank Group instruments, trust funds, and operations.
- Experience working across multiple regions, specifically Africa, Asia, Latin America, or the Caribbean.
- Proficiency in French or Spanish.
