Estimator

Responsibilities

• Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to prepare accurate cost estimates
• Collaborate with various departmental functions to ensure tender returns are accurately priced and technically detailed
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and other professionals
• Prepare and present detailed tender cost build-ups within strict timescales
• Support the transition between the tender phase and project handover
• Monitor market trends, material costs, and labour rates
• Identify potential risks and opportunities within project estimates
• Contribute to the development of estimating processes and procedures

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in the construction industry
• Previous experience in the Social Housing sector
• Knowledge of the JCT & ACA suite of contracts
• Ability to 'take off' from design drawings and prepare Bills of Quantities
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Proficiency in estimating software
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or a related field
