Estimator

Responsibilities

• Support operations with all activities related to the RFP/RFQ process
• Perform trade-off studies with engineering and project teams
• Prepare technical documentation and reports
• Facilitate the bidding process from initiation to submission
• Compile detailed cost forecasts and material take-offs across multiple disciplines
• Obtain material, subcontractor, and equipment pricing
• Review and interpret scopes of work, drawings, and engineering specifications
• Assist in developing project schedules and critical path timelines
• Conduct site visits to validate estimates and understand existing conditions
• Maintain estimating databases, cost libraries, and standardized templates
• Coordinate with operations, procurement, finance, and legal teams
• Support handover of successful bids to the execution team

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Understanding of underground and surface mining methods and equipment
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Proficiency with estimating and scheduling software (MS Excel, MS Project, Hard Dollar, B2W Estimate, etc.)
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Deswik, or other CAD software
• Knowledge of construction and mining safety standards
• Ability to travel to various mine sites in Ontario as required
• High level knowledge of Microsoft Suite
