About the role

Responsibilities

  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to understand project requirements
  • Conduct site visits to gather information on project conditions and constraints
  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
  • Review and evaluate subcontractor bids for accuracy and completeness
  • Prepare and present bid proposals to clients and stakeholders
  • Monitor and update cost estimates as project conditions change
  • Assist in the preparation of project budgets and schedules
  • Participate in post-bid reviews and project handover meetings

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in civil estimating or a related role
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost estimation techniques
  • Ability to understand project scheduling, cost control, specifications, and engineering drawings
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools (InEight Estimate/HardDollar preferred)
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel as required by the position
