ERISA/Employee Benefits Paralegal

Responsibilities

• Draft and review plan documents, amendments, and participant communications, including Summary Plan Descriptions
• Research and summarize applicable laws and regulations
• File Determination Letters and correction program filings with the IRS and the U.S. Department of Labor
• Respond to client inquiries regarding plan operation, compliance, and correction matters
• Support the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation practice group with various legal and administrative tasks

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience working with retirement plans (e.g., defined benefit, 401(k), 403(b), and profit sharing)
• College degree or paralegal certification (significant relevant work experience may be considered as a substitute)
• High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe
• Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills
• Ability to accurately interpret legal concepts and manage multiple deadlines effectively
