ER Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to patients, including feeding, exercising, and grooming
• Triage patients, perform physical exams, and administer medications as directed by LVTs
• Assist doctors and technicians with patient restraint and medication administration
• Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs
• Operate and maintain hospital equipment such as EKGs, fluid pumps, and anesthetic monitors
• Maintain hospital cleanliness by cleaning equipment, kennels, and facilities
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
• Greet patients and owners and assist with administrative tasks

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least one year of experience with veterinary appointments, surgeries, and nursing care
• Experience with hospitalized and critical patients

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in an Emergency Room (ER) setting
• Certified Assistant or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) status
