Equity Research – Transportation – Analyst/Associate

Responsibilities

• Support a senior analyst covering listed companies within the transportation sector
• Build and maintain complex financial models to assist in the valuation process
• Contribute to thematic sector reports and cross-sector research collaborations
• Handle day-to-day client requests, specifically for investors interested in stock markets
• Communicate research ideas persuasively to both internal and external stakeholders
• Organize fact-finding trips, channel-check meetings, and investor tours
• Ensure all research activities comply with firm risk management and regulatory policies

Requirements

• Fluency in both English and Japanese is essential
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Proven ability to solve problems with creativity and logical reasoning
• Ability to thrive under competitive pressure and remain focused on client needs
• Comfortable interacting with business clients and corporate management

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to complete robust financial models (including base and sensitivity cases) with minimal guidance
• Deep understanding of industry fundamentals, competitive landscapes, and sector risks
• Skill in synthesizing disparate information into a clear, compelling investment thesis
