Equity Market Risk AVP

Responsibilities

• Oversee and proactively manage market risk across the US Equities business to ensure alignment with the firm’s risk appetite.
• Collect and analyze market data to ensure risk is correctly captured, modeled, and capitalized.
• Escalate critical risk issues or breaches to Traders and senior Risk Management Leadership teams.
• Review and provide feedback on market risk models, including change governance.
• Perform internal, regulatory, and scenario stress testing for the Trading portfolio.
• Lead and execute market risk projects of high significance, such as FRTB and One Risk.
• Partner with Front Office stakeholders to provide effective challenge and guidance on risk-taking activities and complex structures.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of market risk management metrics, including VaR/SVaR and stress testing.
• Advanced quantitative and analytical capabilities derived from professional experience or a quantitative degree.
• Proven ability to partner effectively with Front Office stakeholders and communicate insights to senior management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience enhancing risk infrastructure and reporting frameworks within a global banking environment.
• Experience supporting regulatory initiatives and strategic risk projects.
• Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
• Experience collaborating across functions such as Finance, Treasury, Model Validation, and Technology.
