About the role
Responsibilities
- Architect, plan, implement, test, and maintain software for the 787 production system, including desktop, cloud-based, and industrial applications.
- Own software products using a DevSecOps approach from initial conception through retirement.
- Program, integrate, and troubleshoot automation systems from industry-leading Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
- Serve as a subject matter expert for software acquisitions, including requirements definition, bid review, and implementation oversight.
- Generate system specifications from production requirements and interface with stakeholders to ensure solution completeness.
- Collaborate in cross-functional teams alongside manufacturing, quality, safety, and research departments.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience working in an engineering discipline application.
- 2+ years of experience working in software development.
- Ability to work 100% onsite in North Charleston, SC.
- Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements (U.S. Person status).
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience for Level 3 or 9+ years for Level 4 roles.
- Proficiency in at least two of the following: C++, C#/.NET, Golang, Python, Java, JavaScript, SQL/No-SQL, or Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with industrial controls programming or industrial control systems support.
- Experience with containers, containerization, or container orchestration.
- Experience in Unix, Linux, or Windows environments.
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) or 3D Metrology processes.
