About the role

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and perform mechanical repairs on a wide range of equipment, including passenger vehicles, heavy trucks, excavators, graders, and snow removal equipment.
  • Design, modify, and install hydraulic systems and components.
  • Perform engine repairs, including grinding valves, replacing injectors, and fuel pump reassembly.
  • Maintain and repair transmissions, wheel bearings, brakes, and air systems.
  • Utilize various shop tools and diagnostic machines for electronic tune-ups and adjustments.
  • Conduct road tests to verify repairs and maintain accurate shop records.
  • Perform specialized tasks such as welding, fabrication, and body repair as needed.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of experience as a journey-level equipment or vehicle technician.
  • Valid motor vehicle operator's license.
  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with air brake, HAZMAT, and passenger endorsements within one month of hire.
  • Strong knowledge of gas and diesel engines and hydraulically operated equipment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend service and equipment manuals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of experience working specifically on diesel truck engines and hydraulic equipment.
  • Proven experience in welding and fabrication.
