About the role
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and perform mechanical repairs on a wide range of equipment, including passenger vehicles, heavy trucks, excavators, graders, and snow removal equipment.
- Design, modify, and install hydraulic systems and components.
- Perform engine repairs, including grinding valves, replacing injectors, and fuel pump reassembly.
- Maintain and repair transmissions, wheel bearings, brakes, and air systems.
- Utilize various shop tools and diagnostic machines for electronic tune-ups and adjustments.
- Conduct road tests to verify repairs and maintain accurate shop records.
- Perform specialized tasks such as welding, fabrication, and body repair as needed.
Requirements
- Three (3) years of experience as a journey-level equipment or vehicle technician.
- Valid motor vehicle operator's license.
- Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with air brake, HAZMAT, and passenger endorsements within one month of hire.
- Strong knowledge of gas and diesel engines and hydraulically operated equipment.
- Ability to read and comprehend service and equipment manuals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five (5) years of experience working specifically on diesel truck engines and hydraulic equipment.
- Proven experience in welding and fabrication.
