About the role

Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, and qualify advanced laboratory instruments and automation systems.
  • Lead root cause investigations for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and calibrations in accordance with service policies.
  • Maintain accurate service records following Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO, CLIA).
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and on-the-job training to junior technicians and metrology associates.
  • Author and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment service and maintenance.
  • Coordinate day-to-day department workflows and manage service schedules to meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Manufacturing, and Lab Operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Electronics, or a related field (or equivalent experience as specified in the job description).
  • 3+ years of relevant technical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in service program administration or supporting service execution.
  • Proven experience mentoring junior staff.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical parts and assembly drawings.
  • Proficiency with electrical measurement tools such as multi-meters and analyzers.
  • Experience with electrical circuits and diagrams.
  • Ability to work on-call, nights, weekends, or overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience with Quality Systems and regulatory compliance (OSHA, FDA, CLIA, ISO).
  • Experience operating complex laboratory equipment such as liquid handling robots, centrifuges, or shakers.
  • Experience with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) or Digital Pathology Imaging.
  • Experience working in a Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) environment.
  • Knowledge of control systems, robotics, and custom automation.
