Equipment Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently, including dozers, excavators, lift trucks, high-reach equipment, and screeners
• Move and place materials such as fill, sand, and gravel using appropriate machinery
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any equipment defects or maintenance needs
• Follow all company and site safety policies, specifically when working around underground utilities and overhead power lines
• Operate equipment with various attachments such as shears, buckets, and pulverizers
• Maintain required documentation and paperwork for equipment units
• Collaborate with the Site Supervisor and site crew to complete tasks efficiently

Requirements

• Class 5 Driver's License with a clean Driver’s Abstract
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment
• Mechanical aptitude with basic knowledge of equipment maintenance (e.g., greasing and fueling)

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic welding for small repairs
• Valid safety certifications such as CSTS, First Aid, or WHMIS
