Equipment Operator - Earthworks

Responsibilities

• Complete jobs using a variety of tools and equipment safely and effectively
• Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order and complete minor maintenance
• Load, unload and transport construction materials
• Perform manual labour including shoveling, hand digging, and raking
• Execute proficient fine and finish grading
• Measure distances from reference points to locate site boundaries
• Implement safe work practices regarding ground disturbance
• Participate in regular safety meetings and form completion
• Perform bulk and detailed excavations and light civil installations
• Read and understand blueprints and detail sections to determine and set grades

Requirements

• 5000+ hours of skid steer and excavator operation
• Clean Driver’s Abstract
• Must meet at least 2 of the following: 2500+ hours Civil Construction, 2500+ hours Large Equipment, or 2500+ hours Small Equipment
• Heavy Trailer Endorsement (Learners)

Preferred Qualifications

• Trades education
• Skid Steer Loader Operator Certification
• Excavator Certification
• First Aid Certification
