Equipment Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and locate mechanical problems on equipment including pumps, blowers, and motors
• Repair brakes, engines, electrical, fuel, hydraulic, transmission, and exhaust systems
• Perform routine preventative maintenance, lubrication, and minor adjustments on vehicles and equipment
• Inspect vehicles and equipment for compliance with safety policies and roadworthiness
• Maintain parts, spares, and maintenance inventory as needed
• Participate in after-hours emergency call-outs and assist with training new personnel

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with tanker endorsement
• Experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance (automotive, truck mechanics, or fleet management)
• Ability to use a variety of hand, power, and diagnostic tools
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50-60 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience repairing pickup trucks, dump trucks, snowplows, and salt spreaders
• Knowledge of gas and diesel engines, hydraulics, valves, and welding
• Proficiency with Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
