About the role

Responsibilities

  • Conduct prompt, impartial, and thorough investigations into allegations of discrimination, Title IX violations, and policy breaches.
  • Collect relevant facts, gather evidentiary material, and maintain accurate and complete records of all investigatory processes.
  • Develop comprehensive, unbiased written reports for the Assistant Vice President/Title IX Coordinator and adjudication panels.
  • Act as a neutral party throughout the investigation process to ensure a fair process for all involved.
  • Develop, plan, and facilitate training and educational programs for faculty, staff, and students regarding University policies and procedures.
  • Stay current on developments regarding Title IX, the Clery Act, and other relevant federal and state legislation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, Law Enforcement, Criminology, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • At least 2 years of recent, substantive experience conducting Title IX investigations or investigations within a higher education setting.
  • Proven background in conducting sensitive and confidential investigations.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to discrimination and harassment in higher education.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, superior judgment, and neutrality in highly sensitive situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a related field, such as a J.D.
