About the Company

For over 125 years, Calvary Hospital and Calvary @Home located in the Bronx, New York has been dedicated to the palliative care of advanced cancer and other terminally ill patients and their families. Through a caring, compassionate philosophy of non-abandonment, the hospital provides a full spectrum of palliative services, including emotional, spiritual, and physical care.

Responsibilities

• Clean and service hospital building areas, including patient and non-patient spaces
• Perform a variety of housekeeping and laundry duties
• Maintain the hospital and its grounds in an orderly and sanitary condition
• Work under the direct supervision of the Environment Services Manager

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English
• Ability to communicate with patients, staff, and visitors
• Aptitude to perform basic calculations and transcription of numerical records
• Ability to carry weight and lift up to 10lbs frequently and up to 40lbs occasionally
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping or laundry experience
