Environmental Worker General

Responsibilities

• Support Hazardous Waste Storage Area (HWSA) operations and environmental compliance programs
• Collect, transport, store, label, and manage hazardous waste from various accumulation points
• Maintain inventory of hazardous waste containers, spill response materials, and personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Perform routine housekeeping, inspections, and maintenance within the HWSA
• Assist with spill prevention and response activities involving petroleum, oils, and lubricants
• Maintain accurate hazardous waste records, manifests, inspection logs, and disposal documentation
• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment to move drums, pallets, and containers safely
• Coordinate with base agencies including Civil Engineering, Logistics, Safety, and the Fire Department

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid "B" Class driver’s license
• Turkish citizenship
• English proficiency (Level III: Read, Write, Speak, and Comprehend)
• Ability to lift heavy materials and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Ability to work outdoors in industrial environments and intense climates
• Ability to pass a medical physical and a Turkish Security background check
• Completion of military service (for male candidates)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hazardous waste management or environmental compliance in a US military work environment
• Valid forklift license
• Experience with environmental management systems (EMS) and logistics
