Environmental Test Technician

Responsibilities

• Independently operate thermal vacuum (TVAC) chambers, thermal chambers, and electrodynamic shakers for component and vehicle-level testing
• Utilize a wide range of test equipment and data acquisition systems, including building and maintaining specialized test setups
• Perform tests and verifications of flight hardware to test requirements, documenting results clearly and precisely
• Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure lab readiness
• Interpret drawings, specifications, assembly procedures, and test procedures
• Support engineering troubleshooting and root cause investigations
• Use mechanical hand tools and torque wrenches for various test setups
• Assist with area efficiency and 5S improvement projects

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in test, manufacturing, or production environments
• U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status required
• Ability to lift 25 lbs unassisted
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, overtime, and weekends during critical test campaigns (24/7 operations)
• Strong attention to detail with excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with thermal, TVAC, vibration, shock, or acoustic testing
• Familiarity with spacecraft components and environmental testing procedures
• Material handling equipment certification (cranes, man lifts, forklifts)
• Experience mentoring or training technical personnel
