About the role
Responsibilities
- Independently operate thermal vacuum (TVAC) chambers, thermal chambers, and electrodynamic shakers for component and vehicle-level testing
- Utilize a wide range of test equipment and data acquisition systems, including building and maintaining specialized test setups
- Perform tests and verifications of flight hardware to test requirements, documenting results clearly and precisely
- Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure lab readiness
- Interpret drawings, specifications, assembly procedures, and test procedures
- Support engineering troubleshooting and root cause investigations
- Use mechanical hand tools and torque wrenches for various test setups
- Assist with area efficiency and 5S improvement projects
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in test, manufacturing, or production environments
- U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status required
- Ability to lift 25 lbs unassisted
- Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, overtime, and weekends during critical test campaigns (24/7 operations)
- Strong attention to detail with excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with thermal, TVAC, vibration, shock, or acoustic testing
- Familiarity with spacecraft components and environmental testing procedures
- Material handling equipment certification (cranes, man lifts, forklifts)
- Experience mentoring or training technical personnel
