About the role

Responsibilities

  • Work on an interdisciplinary team to design, build, and test satellite hardware and software
  • Operate and set up environmental test equipment including thermal vacuum chambers (TVAC), vibration shaker tables, and ambient thermal chambers
  • Execute test plans involving vibration, acoustics, thermal, RF, and EMI/EMC testing
  • Utilize various instruments such as DAQs, oscilloscopes, and test equipment to ensure successful hardware validation

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a four-year university pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent technical field
  • U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status required
  • Familiarity with spacecraft systems and operations
  • Strong passion for hands-on hardware development and working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work onsite in San Francisco 5 days a week

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in designing, building, and testing hardware
  • Proficiency in Python for interfacing with test equipment, processing large datasets, or data visualization
  • Experience with CAD software
  • Direct electrical or mechanical design experience
  • Demonstrated ability to debug hardware and software problems under time pressure
