About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement test procedures, standard operating procedures, and tools for environmental test operations.
- Define environmental test equipment specifications, identify vendors, and qualify equipment for production.
- Design and build test setups, fixtures, and support hardware required to safely test flight hardware.
- Manage test schedules, track milestones, and communicate progress and risk to program leadership.
- Operate environmental test equipment and instrumentation to collect, process, and analyze test data.
- Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action efforts for test processes and equipment.
- Work closely with technicians to provide direction during test execution and hardware handling.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering discipline.
- 2+ years of experience testing electronics, electro-mechanical assemblies, or integrated systems.
- Experience performing environmental testing such as thermal, thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, acoustic, or EMI/EMC.
- Ability to develop and execute test plans and procedures based on engineering requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting and presenting test results.
- Must be able to work onsite in San Francisco 5 days a week.
- U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating and maintaining thermal chambers, TVAC chambers, or vibration shakers.
- Hands-on experience with data acquisition systems and instrumentation (e.g., thermocouples, accelerometers, Keysight).
- Experience with space flight components and spacecraft environmental testing.
- Experience designing and building electrical harnesses and connectors.
- Experience in fast-paced, iterative design environments such as aerospace, automotive, or medical devices.
