About the role
Responsibilities
- Support environmental compliance monitoring and investigations at the Faro Mine Remediation Project
- Perform data collection, water quality monitoring, sample collection, and geotechnical monitoring
- Conduct construction inspections, waste management, air quality monitoring, and spill response
- Complete QA/QC of field work and documentation, including field notes, checklists, and photo logs
- Compile environmental and geotechnical reports and lead yellow alert investigations
- Manage trackers, support daily planning, and act as a primary point of contact for field observations
- Utilize EQuIS for data management and reporting
- Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Requirements
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Environmental Sciences, Earth Sciences, Biology, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field
- Proficiency in data collection and water quality monitoring
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
- Valid class 5 driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 20 kg
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, extreme cold)
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working at remote mine sites
- Experience operating equipment such as ATVs, snowmobiles, and power boats
- Experience with EQuIS data management software
