About the role
Responsibilities
- Collect soil, water, waste, and other materials as directed by the Environmental Engineer
- Assist with re-vegetation tasks including irrigation maintenance, planting, and weed removal
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements
- Prepare field observation notes, records, and reports
- Operate equipment such as skid-steer, forklift, and water truck
- Manage obligations for the protection of the desert tortoise and other protected species
- Assist with hazardous waste management and investigate accidental spills
- Support sustainability initiatives including land restoration and water conservation
- Perform general compliance-related data entry using MS Word or Excel
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to operate skid-steer, forklift, and water truck
- Ability to work in extreme desert weather conditions and active mine sites
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in environmental, mining, or related fields
- Current MSHA Certification
- HAZWOPER certification
- DOT certifications for waste inspections and disposals
