About the role
Responsibilities
- Collect, package, label, treat, store, and verify hazardous, radioactive, and mixed waste
- Operate wastewater retention tanks, perform pump-outs, and manage waste container storage areas
- Perform waste testing and sampling using field instrumentation such as pH meters and radiation survey instruments
- Operate vehicles up to 5-ton trucks and material handling equipment including forklifts
- Respond to environmental emergencies and support decontamination activities
- Maintain detailed records and provide customer service to waste generators
Requirements
- Associate degree in environmental science or equivalent experience

- Effective communication and customer service skills
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for DOE Q-level security clearance
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug test and medical exam
