Environmental Technician III

Responsibilities

• Supervise the segregation and packaging of materials for processing
• Separate and pack hazardous materials for transport
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner according to regulations
• Collect samples of inbound waste for laboratory analysis
• Ensure effective communication within the team and across departments

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• 2+ years of experience working with hazardous materials
• Ability to operate equipment, including a forklift and pallet jack
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirators, gloves, and eye protection
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking)

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience specifically sampling and receiving hazardous waste
• Proficiency with Windows-based programs such as Excel and Word
• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and RCRA regulations
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field
• Safe driving record for operating powered industrial trucks
