Environmental Technician I

Responsibilities

• Consolidate, treat, store, transport, and dispose of hazardous waste following compliant practices and procedures
• Operate forklifts and other mobile equipment to move containers and load/unload trailers
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds throughout the workday
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely in accordance with regulations and customer policies

Requirements

• 2+ years of prior experience working with hazardous materials
• Ability to operate equipment, including a forklift and pallet jack
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in all climate conditions (outdoors and non-climate-controlled indoors)
• Willingness and ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator
• Ability to hear vehicle warning chimes and alarms

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
• Basic computer skills for web-based training
• Ability to work variable schedules, including occasional nights and weekends
