Environmental Technician I

Responsibilities

• Handle hazardous waste including identification, labeling, storage, and management
• Manage waste batteries and electronics for recycling
• Unload trucks and stage equipment for processing
• Document operations in logs
• Operate fork trucks, lifting mechanisms, drum dumpers, and pallet jacks
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and facility housekeeping
• Inventory incoming material and assist with deliveries/pickups

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Good mechanical ability
• Ability to read, write, and understand English
• Ability to lift 50-60 pounds regularly
• Ability to stand for 8 hours per day and move 55-gallon drums
• Ability to use personal protective equipment (tyveks, goggles, hardhat, respirator)
• Ability to work overtime as required
