Environmental Technician I

Responsibilities

• Consolidate, treat, store, transport, and dispose of hazardous waste following compliant practices and procedures
• Operate forklifts and other mobile equipment to move containers and load/unload trailers
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely in accordance with regulations
• Manage the removal of hazardous materials from the waste stream

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to repeatedly lift and carry up to 50 pounds throughout the workday
• Ability to stand and walk over uneven surfaces for extended periods
• Visual acuity for reading labels and depth perception for safe forklift operation
• Ability to work in all climate conditions, both indoors and outdoors
• Willingness to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
• Basic computer skills for completing web-based training
• Ability to understand and respond to written and verbal English
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional nights and weekends
