Environmental Sustainability Manager

Responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation of the Environmental Management System (EMS) at the Delhi, NY and Newington, CT facilities.
• Develop and execute tactical plans to achieve reduction goals for energy, water, and waste.
• Monitor and measure environmental KPIs to identify opportunities for continual performance improvement.
• Act as the primary environmental advisor and change agent for plant operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
• Advocate for necessary resources and build site-wide capability through training and communication of environmental progress.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental standards and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience working within a manufacturing plant environment.
• Technical capacity to assess and optimize utility systems (e.g., heat, steam, compressed air, refrigeration, and CIP systems).
• Proven experience in environmental roles, such as resource conservation programs, project management, or EMS implementation.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with data modeling or analytics.
• Ability to travel between site locations at least once per month.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interpret technical regulations and present findings to stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the dairy industry.
• Professional environmental certifications (e.g., AEE Certified Energy Manager or ASHRAE certifications).
• Working knowledge of ISO 14000 and 50000 standards.
• Familiarity with EPA Energy Star or DOE Better Plants Programs.
