Environmental & Sustainability Leader

Responsibilities

• Design and execute environmental compliance and sustainability strategies for Nemak USA sites
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, including EPA and WDNR
• Lead programs for air, water, waste, and hazardous materials management
• Support the implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 management systems
• Develop cross-site energy roadmaps and lead decarbonization initiatives to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions
• Oversee energy efficiency projects to target annual energy usage reductions
• Conduct environmental audits and manage corrective action plans
• Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and stakeholders
• Monitor and report on energy KPIs, consumption trends, and emissions data
• Collaborate with Finance and Operations on sustainability capital expenditure (Capex) planning

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in environmental compliance and sustainability management within a manufacturing environment
• In-depth knowledge of EPA and WDNR regulatory guidelines
• Experience with ISO 14001 standards
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Ability and willingness to travel to various Nemak USA facilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) credential
• Experience with ISO 50001 implementation
• Experience with melting operations and environmental controls
• Familiarity with specific WDNR requirements
