Environmental, Sustainability & Energy Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform legal compliance audits at plants to validate adherence to SEMARNAT, PROFEPA, CONAGUA, CRE, and local requirements
• Review permits, licenses, NOM compliance, and monitoring obligations to ensure regulatory readiness
• Issue audit findings and coordinate with plant HSE teams to support the closure of non-compliance issues
• Maintain digital repositories for environmental and waste-management documentation
• Conduct on-site audits of waste segregation, storage, labeling, and disposal practices
• Validate compliance with hazardous, non-hazardous, and special handling waste regulations
• Provide analytical and operational support for ISO 14001, ISO 50001, and ASI system audits
• Coordinate with external laboratories, waste contractors, and digitalization vendors

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field
• 3 years of experience in environmental legislation compliance and monitoring
• Knowledge of monitoring methods related to air, water, waste, and soil contamination
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused, analytical mindset
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams with a proactive approach to continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 standards
