Environmental Specialist

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of OSHA regulations and company Health and Safety practices
• Prepare chemical and biological waste for shipment and disposal
• Manage federal and state waste documentation and paperwork
• Handle hazardous waste containers and load/unload waste from vehicles
• Conduct safety equipment and hazardous waste inspections
• Perform and document Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) audits
• Conduct spill response measures, assessment, and cleanup
• Participate in rotating on-call responsibilities for Emergency Response (optional)

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in hazardous waste industry or military experience
• Ability to work overtime and flexible hours (Monday through Friday)
• Ability to complete a 2 to 3 year professional advancement program
• Ability to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis
• Valid US driver's license and reliable transportation
• Willingness to undergo background checks, drug screening (including THC), and physical
• Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship
• Willingness to obtain CDL Class C and hazmat endorsement

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior relevant industry experience
• Prior customer service experience
• Active HAZWOPER 24 or 40 hour certification
• Willingness to obtain Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
