About the role
Responsibilities
- Support environmental compliance, field oversight, and permitting coordination for nuclear and industrial development projects.
- Conduct environmental field inspections and compliance assessments at active project and construction sites.
- Manage documentation related to environmental authorizations, approvals, and permits.
- Monitor contractor compliance with environmental requirements and Best Management Practices (BMPs).
- Assist with stormwater, erosion and sediment control, dust control, spill prevention, and waste management oversight.
- Coordinate environmental monitoring activities including water, air, soil, and waste tracking.
- Prepare and maintain environmental reports, inspection logs, and permit documentation.
- Interface with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies as required.
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to incorporate environmental requirements into project planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Ecology, or a related technical discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in environmental compliance, construction oversight, or industrial operations.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations including the Clean Water Act, stormwater permitting, and spill prevention.
- Strong technical writing and reporting skills.
- Ability to work safely in active industrial and construction environments.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and field conditions.
- Must reside in southeastern Idaho or be willing to relocate to the region.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure, energy, or nuclear projects.
- Familiarity with NRC, DOE, or other nuclear regulatory environments.
- OSHA 30 or HAZWOPER certification.
- Experience with erosion and sediment control programs.
- Proficiency in GIS, data analysis, or environmental monitoring tools.
