About the role

Responsibilities

  • Implement and support environmental management plans, permits, and regulatory requirements for major infrastructure projects.
  • Conduct environmental inspections focusing on marine, freshwater, and terrestrial ecosystems.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with Provincial and Federal regulations, including the Fisheries Act.
  • Coordinate marine monitoring programs, including water quality, sediment monitoring, and marine mammal protection protocols.
  • Prepare and maintain environmental records, compliance documentation, and regular reports for stakeholders.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies, Indigenous communities, and other project stakeholders.
  • Identify environmental risks and support incident investigations and corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Ecology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of environmental management experience in construction, heavy civil, industrial, or infrastructure sectors.
  • R.P.Bio designation or eligibility.
  • Solid understanding of environmental regulations regarding air, water, waste, wildlife, and wetlands.
  • Experience with regulatory agencies and environmental permitting processes.
  • Willingness to travel and work on project sites as needed, including rotational travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working specifically in marine and coastal environments.
  • Ability to act as a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP).
