Environmental Specialist

Responsibilities

• Apply solid waste permitting and compliance strategies across operations
• Maintain internal CCR guidance materials and train employees in best management practices
• Complete reporting obligations to comply with the CCR rule
• Obtain CCR Solid Waste Permits, licenses, and certifications
• Support CCR rule and permit compliance through site visits, file reviews, and use of Environmental Management Systems
• Collaborate with internal technical teams and third-party consultants to find cost-effective environmental solutions

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in solid waste, environmental consulting, or environmental compliance
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of environmental laws and regulations
• Strong professional writing and speaking skills
• Ability to work with limited supervision and maintain a flexible schedule
• Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or science (e.g., geology, biology, chemistry, or environmental science)
• Experience with Georgia Solid Waste rules
• Specific experience in Georgia with CCR Solid Waste Permitting or CCR Rule compliance
