Environmental Specialist

Responsibilities

• Support hazardous and non-hazardous waste program management, including waste characterizations and manifest management
• Maintain and update Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans and track inspection schedules
• Facilitate compliance with stormwater permits under NPDES guidelines and update SWPPPs
• Manage compliance calendars and databases to track permit conditions and regulatory deadlines
• Partner with Field Operations to ensure site staff understand compliance requirements
• Evaluate existing environmental processes to identify automation and optimization opportunities
• Monitor evolving federal and state environmental regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
• 1–5 years of relevant environmental compliance experience
• Experience in SPCC, stormwater permitting, waste management, or AST compliance
• Working knowledge of Clean Water Act, RCRA, and 40 CFR Part 112
• Ability to travel 25–35% for site visits and inspections

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as CHMM, CEP, or CPWQ
• Experience in power generation, manufacturing, oil & gas, or data center operations
• Familiarity with regulatory portals like TCEQ's STEERS or NetDMR
• Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
