About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior staff in advancing air permit applications including NSR, PSD, and minor/synthetic minor permit applications
  • Support ongoing compliance obligations under Title V operating permits, NSPS, and NESHAP standards
  • Perform and QC emissions calculations using EPA AP-42 emission factors, CEMS data, and vendor-supplied performance data
  • Stay current on federal and state air quality regulations and support regulatory agency correspondence
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready compliance documentation and compliance calendars
  • Map and evaluate environmental processes to identify automation and AI-assisted improvement opportunities
  • Partner with Field Operations and construction teams to communicate permit conditions and identify permitting needs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Atmospheric Science, or a related field
  • 1–5 years of dedicated air quality compliance or permitting experience
  • Foundational knowledge of NSR/minor permitting, Title V operating permits, and/or PBR mechanisms
  • Working familiarity with NSPS and NESHAP applicability for stationary engines or combustion sources
  • Experience with emissions calculations (AP-42 factors, PTE, CEMS)
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to travel 25–35% for site visits and inspections

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct environmental compliance experience in power generation, manufacturing, oil & gas, or hyperscale data centers
  • Prior experience with air quality regulations in Texas
