Environmental Services Technician

Responsibilities

• Maintain assigned offices, public areas, classrooms, and hallways in a clean and orderly condition
• Perform cleaning tasks including sweeping, wet mopping, vacuuming, and dusting furniture and fixtures
• Clean and sanitize restrooms in residence halls, classroom buildings, and office buildings
• Maintain building entryways to ensure cleanliness near entrances
• Manage equipment, supplies, and inventory in supply closets
• Secure buildings by locking doors, closing windows, and turning out lights
• Report emergency or general repairs to the Facilities Management office
• Adhere to all safety rules, OSHA standards, and housekeeping practices to maintain a healthy workplace

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to follow safety rules and procedures
• Ability to use various cleaning equipment including auto scrubbers, vacuums, and power washers
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs on an occasional basis and push/pull up to 45 lbs frequently
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, bending, and kneeling
