About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems
- Oversee housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance work routines
- Perform routine repairs, servicing, and inspections of equipment and grounds
- Manage departmental budgets and staffing, including hiring, orientation, and performance monitoring
- Coordinate the Home-wide Health and Safety Program
- Ensure compliance with LTC legislation, PIDAC, and Public Health guidance
- Collaborate with leadership to prioritize facilities management tasks
Requirements
- Managerial experience in a healthcare setting managing people and budgets
- Knowledge of the Fixing Long Term Care Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and WHMIS
- OH&S level I & II certification as a management representative
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices for housekeeping and laundry
Preferred Qualifications
- Maintenance-related work experience
- Post-secondary degree or diploma
- BES certification
