About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems
- Oversee staffing, housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance routines
- Perform routine repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance
- Manage departmental budgets and financial resources
- Coordinate hiring, orientation, and performance monitoring for the environmental services team
- Lead the Home-wide Health and Safety Program
- Ensure compliance with LTC legislation, PIDAC, and Public Health guidance
Requirements
- Managerial experience in a healthcare setting managing people and budgets
- Knowledge of the Fixing Long Term Care Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act
- OH&S level I & II certification as a management representative
- Knowledge of WHMIS and Ministry of Long-Term Care regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in maintenance-related work
- Post-secondary degree or diploma
- BES certification
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices for housekeeping and laundry
