Environmental Services Aide I

Responsibilities

• Perform daily thorough cleaning using established Seven Step Cleaning Guidelines
• Safely remove general waste, infectious waste, and soiled linen following hospital safety protocols
• Handle and mix cleaning chemicals according to infection control standards
• Operate equipment such as cardboard balers and trash compactors safely
• Support unit operations through room setups and small moves as needed
• Participate in department meetings and required training sessions

Requirements

• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and pushing for extended periods
• Physical stamina to lift at least 30 lbs
• Basic computer knowledge for communication and training purposes
• Ability to operate or learn to use floor-cleaning equipment
• No prior Environmental Services experience required; training is provided
