About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead permitting efforts at the local, state, and federal level, including coordination with the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
- Ensure compliance with NEPA, the Endangered Species Act (ESA), and the Clean Water Act (CWA).
- Lead teams in conducting wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species habitat characterizations, and land use mapping.
- Support diverse projects across water resources, transportation, municipal capital improvement, and energy sectors.
- Prepare work plans, assemble project teams, and ensure tasks are completed within scope and on schedule.
- Establish and maintain quality assurance and safety plans for assigned projects.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to early-career staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in environmental science, biological resources, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience providing or managing technical services in a professional services setting.
- Proven experience with local, state, and federal environmental permitting and compliance.
- Willingness to travel as needed for project work and fieldwork.
- Strong understanding of technical environmental impact analysis methods and relevant regulatory agencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification.
- Other applicable professional environmental certifications, such as Authorized Gopher Tortoise Agent.
- Professional services experience specifically within the state of Florida.
