Environmental Scientist

Responsibilities

• Perform and document field data collection activities, including oversight of subcontractors
• Complete site inspections for Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
• Conduct multi-media sampling for soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and air
• Complete hazardous building materials assessments for substances such as asbestos, lead, and mould
• Prepare technical documents including soil boring logs, well construction details, and technical reports
• Provide oversight for drilling, utility locating, and groundwater monitoring well installation
• Coordinate with laboratories, clients, and third-party stakeholders
• Conduct desktop research regarding historic data, regulations, and literature reviews

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Environmental Management, or a related field
• Strong technical writing skills and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Detailed knowledge of field sampling techniques and experience with field equipment
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record
• Eligibility for federal security clearance
• Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple projects concurrently
• Willingness to travel and work extended hours as required
