Environmental Scientist

Responsibilities

• Perform environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation using standard science principles
• Conduct soil, surface water, groundwater, and sediment sampling
• Perform soil classification and sampling during drilling, test pitting, and excavation activities
• Supervise drillers and other subcontractors while prioritizing health and safety
• Complete field documentation including activity hazard analysis (AHA) forms, field notes, and chain-of-custody forms
• Assist in geologic and environmental analyses, including hydrogeology and geochemistry
• Prepare environmental data figures, potentiometric surface maps, and geologic cross sections
• Develop materials and assist in completing technical reports based on field work

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Science or a related field
• 3+ years of related work experience
• Proficiency in environmental sampling and field documentation
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, walking over uneven terrain, and lifting
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with related environmental rules and regulations
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to operate self-sufficiently in the field or as part of a team
