About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance on various environmental project types under the supervision of senior personnel
  • Collect, evaluate, compile, and analyze project-specific data related to geology, biology, ecology, and chemistry
  • Prepare technical reports and ensure the accuracy and quality of all work products
  • Function as a field supervisor, coordinating field tasks and managing the efforts of junior employees and subcontractors
  • Perform environmental field work including sampling of groundwater, soil, soil vapor, sediment, and surface water
  • Review work products of junior staff for consistency with Standard Operating Procedures and regulations
  • Prepare requests for quotes from vendors and subcontractors

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field (e.g., Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or Biology)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing environmental tasks under CERCLA, RCRA, NEPA, CAA, or CWA
  • Knowledge of CERCLA and RCRA regulations
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (including 8-hour refresher)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)
  • Working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check for government property access
  • Ability to perform outdoor fieldwork, including walking uneven terrain and lifting heavy equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) qualification
  • Experience with Federal Department of Defense projects (USACE or NAVFAC)
  • Experience with the military munitions response program (MMRP)
  • Certifications such as 30-hr Construction, 40-hr EM385, AHERA, or HI Asbestos/Lead Inspector
  • First Aid/CPR certification
