Environmental Planner – Senior

Responsibilities

• Lead Environmental Assessment (EA) projects for transportation and infrastructure assignments, including MTO, municipal, and transit projects
• Prepare and oversee environmental documentation such as Environmental Screening Reports, Environmental Study Reports, and TPAP documentation
• Lead consultation and coordination with agencies, municipalities, Indigenous communities, and stakeholders
• Support and lead proposal preparation for major transportation infrastructure pursuits
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior and intermediate staff
• Support environmental permitting and approvals associated with transportation infrastructure projects

Requirements

• 8+ years of environmental planning experience in Ontario
• Extensive knowledge of the MTO Class Environmental Assessment process and provincial transportation requirements
• Experience leading or supporting projects involving MTO, Metrolinx, TTC, or municipal roadway infrastructure
• Strong understanding of Ontario environmental legislation, policies, and permitting frameworks
• Post-secondary education in planning, environmental science, biology, geography, or a related field
• Excellent technical writing, communication, and client management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Membership (or eligibility for membership) with OPPI/CIP (RPP/MCIP)
• French language skills
