Environmental Permitting Specialist

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement environmental permitting strategies for gas power generation facilities
• Prepare and manage applications for air, water, and other environmental permits
• Coordinate with internal engineering, operations, legal, and commercial stakeholders
• Serve as the primary point of contact for state and federal regulatory agencies like TCEQ
• Prepare routine regulatory reports including air emissions, water discharge (DMRs), and GHG reporting
• Track permit conditions and support plant operations with permit interpretation
• Support permitting needs for plant modifications and maintenance projects

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in environmental permitting or compliance for power generation or industrial facilities
• Working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations (air and water programs)
• Experience preparing permit applications and regulatory reports
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience permitting in Texas (TCEQ) and/or PJM states
• Familiarity with gas-fired power generation facilities (simple-cycle, combined-cycle, or cogeneration)
• Experience with annual emissions inventories, GHG reporting, or water discharge reporting
• Prior involvement supporting regulatory inspections or audits
