Environmental Permitting Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage environmental licensing and permitting activities for electric and gas projects to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements
• Review capital improvement projects and facility modifications to evaluate potential environmental impacts and regulatory needs
• Oversee client field operations and document site visits to monitor compliance with environmental legislation
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and proposed federal, state, and local environmental regulations
• Provide technical guidance, training, and coaching to engineering and corporate personnel regarding environmental procedures
• Manage permitting processes within established project schedules
• Review and manage environmental aspects of projects throughout the design and construction phases

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental/civil engineering, or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in environmental permitting, preferably within the electric or gas utility industry
• Demonstrated knowledge of relevant industry practices, standards, and legislation
• Extensive knowledge of environmental licensing and permitting regulatory requirements
• Proven project management experience
• Familiarity with GIS software
